I'm wondering if 8kb clusters (minimum allocation unit) for an OS/programs drive would be faster than the standard 4kb clusters if I install xp on my 15k cheetah. I know 4kb is best for slow 7200rpm drives but what about the scsi?

Or, are there (speed) reasons why the os drive should always be 4kb?

Thanks!

Maybe this will help you in this area.....
Define Cluster Size Properly (http://www.ntfs.com/ntfs_optimization.htm) .
Hope it helps.
