Is it going to hit Florida? I've been watching Fox coverage, and it seems like they've been covering New Orleans and the surrounding area pretty heavily.

Looks to be pretty devestating. I'm glad I don't live in that region.

Yeah you're right. I remember seeing it on CNN-- the floods, etc., but I didn't pay much attention at the time (too busy wrapping up things during last week of work).

I'm a little skeptical of all these people crowding into the Superdome. It's like something out of the movie.

I'll prolly be HELLA busy once I start my new job, because they do fund raisers for natural disasters.

Sept 1st (this coming Thursday). Hope my car is ready by at least Tuesday, so I have a couple days with it. I heard gas prices may increase sharply due to this hurricane. :bawling:

Gas prices increase because of any reason, whether it being hurricanes, winter, spring, summer, fall, labor day, memorial day, christmas, unusually warm, unusually cool, rainy, sunny, or perfectly normal, there is always an excuse said as to why gas prices need to rise. :bawling: Just watch the news and you will eventually see every last one of these excuses.

To keep things in perspective, gas is still cheaper then most bottled water.

well people who buy bottled water are stupid! Unless of course they have a very good logical reason behind it, like no access to clean water, be it city or well or lake or spring or whatever.

Taste alone... but then again we have a big water filter at home, so we just reuse the bottles :P But at work, to drink from the fountain is to drink straight from the penis. Just gross.

Water here is pretty good, no complaints. The crispest tasting water I have ever tasted resides untreated from a well north of me, and it tastes far superior to bottled/home filtered, not to say the other water is bad, just saying that once you compare you think the other stuff isn't as good. It comes partly from the Mississippi River. ...Good old clean Mississippi water, here atleast.

Anyway, about the hurricane, not to bloat or anything, but it is so extremely pleasant and nice here, (actually a bit too warm at 79), but overall the hurricane likes MN a LOT. Hope everyone that was in it stayed safe. If I were there I think I would have stayed it out, I like being in severe type weather. Ofcourse I have never been in a hurricane so I don't know if I would do it more than once.
