u2d.exe error? The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction

I keep getting this error basically every time I run internet explorer

First what Opperating system are you using?

u2d is unix-to-dos, which is very odd that you'd be getting it when using IE. Since it's not even part of windows XP.

Do you have cygwin installed by chance or did you at one point.
