I've always loved that video, I think the best part is not the hole in the motherboard but the big hole in the wooden table too.

Yeah I was shocked to see that. I've seen chips melt, catch on fire, crack etc...but never seen one blow before, and certainly not pop a whole through a table.

nice video, but totaly rigged.
juicing that cpu with 4V?! and being able to boot into the OS? noway
aircooled? the heatsink fan wasnt even running.
the heatsink wasnt even on properly, he just removed it like it was nothing.

Well of course it was rigged and beyond normal opperating proceedures, but still damn impressive that it would blow like that.

I think he meant rigged as in they used a small explosive device (squib) to destroy the processor. If you look at the pieces, the actual core is still intact, so what (other then the squib ) exactly exploded?

Possibly, but looks like the chip cracked and forced the cpu block through the table.

I remember in college in a lab one time we mad a tinfoil dish an placed it ontop of a p3 (maybe even a p2 back then). Powered it up and cooked an egg on it.
