Nice little place you guys got here, love the colors and the new site. I thought I would give the community an update on everything.
I healed up from my surgery quite nicely since November. But starting in February I noticed I was getting really sharp pains on my right side, exactly where the bar was placed. When I applied pressure to that area, it literally felt as if someone was slowly cutting my side open with a knife.
I went back to the Doctor, and he said that the stabilizing bar was aggravating some nerves on my right side, or their was some nerve damage from the bar. Now the stabilizing bar is a bar on each side of my chest which supports the main bar, to hold it in place better. Some doctors use them, and some do not, they are not required.
At any rate, I had to go back into surgery on March 3rd to remove the right stabilizing bars because the pain was getting unbearable. So far so good with that surgery, no more pain from my right side.
Well shortly after that, my left side starting giving me double the pain my right side was. So I went back to the Doctor and he said that he bar might have shifted some and now it is on a nerve(s) on the left side.
So I have to go back into surgery this coming up Thursday to have that stabilizing bar removed.
So needless to say, I will not be making it to the LAN this year, with the combination of out of the roof doctor bills, and recovery time, it's not going to happen.
So that is basically what I have been doing lately, surgery, surgery and more of it.
Fold on guys!
Jeremy
Edit: Oh and I had to get rid of the Mustang. With everything that is going on, I needed something with lower car payments and lower insurance. It was way to hard to get rid of her, but I will get me another soon enough :) I got a 2003 Trailblazer now. I miss my pony.

Sorry to hear about the complications, Clutch. Thanks for keeping us informed. We care! Too bad about the Mustang. You'll replace it someday with something just good or even better, I'm sure.
Bummer to hear about all the extra surgery. Hopefully thus will be the last of it. Be thinking of you on Thursday.

Thanks for checking in, Jeremy. Sorry to hear about all the complications :-/
If after this surgery pain continues, you should seek secondary opinions. Best of luck with your surgery.
:( Dang.
Good luck with what I hope will be the last of these surgeries. Positive thoughts being sent your way. :)

I got home today at about 3:00 or so. I slept until 7ish, I was so out of it.
Right after they gave me the medicine in my i.v to put me to sleep I wanted to see if I could keep myself awake to see the operating room, but the Dr said I would be out of it by then. So my mom said I called my best friend Allen on the phone right before and told him to keep talking to me to keep me awake, but I don't remember any of it, lol.
So far so good, only had to take one percocet to ease the pain. Now maybe in a couple of weeks I can finally get to play some golf without any pain :cool2:

I had to have surgery back in November of '06. When I was born, I had a condition where your breast bone basically doesn't grow out, so it sunk in a little. And as I grew older, it got worse becuase my lungs were growing but couldn't expand all the way because of my chest. You might have seen it, people call it cave chest or chicken chest, something like that.
So finally I decided to do something about it, because I couldn't run even 100' before almost passing out because my lungs couldn't expand to get air.
So to fix it, the Dr puts a bar through your chest and pops out the dent off of your lungs. The bar has to stay in for 3 years, kind of like getting braces for your teeth.
Here is a picture of my X-ray, so you better understand what goes on.

Now the reason I had these last two surgeries was because those little door hinge like support bars on each side, they were touching a nerve, or on a nerve. So almost any kind of stretching movement would put me in extreme pain.
They took the right side out in March, and the left side out yesterday. The first surgery I was in the hospital for 5 days and out of work for recovery for over 2 months, this surgery was a same day deal.
So that is the summary I guess you could call it.
I live about 3 hours from Raleigh myself, down at Holden Beach. I got a cousin that lives that way in Smithfield.
