Hey, i have a question for you guys about ebay with the reserve price system. Ok, I know what it is, but I have a question about how it works.

If someone were to bid just above the serve price, and the reserve wasn't met prior to that, will the auction then jump to meet the reserve price?

For example, if there is an item for $50 and the current bid is $10. If someone were to bid $55, would the price then go up to $50 and meet the reserve, or stay at like $13 or something and just go a little above the current high bidder?

Thanks

It would stay at the lower price.

I have my laptop on ebay again(scammers won the first time), so I was refunded and put it up again. I clearly stated that I expect immediate payment through paypal, and I will only ship inside the U.S., so that scammers wouldn't have as good of a chance. I included a 250GB external HD which I don't use, and an old digital camera of mine which I also don't use, because I figured it would attract a lot more people, and it did. I have 230 views after only 2 days. Before I had around 300 after a whole week.

Anyway my reason for wondering is because the price is already at $1050 (which was my reserve), and there are only 4 bids.

It just means that atleast two of your bidders are willing to pay as much as 1050...

thanks guys. I hope this time scammers don't win.

I tried to scare them off a little by requiring immediate payment through paypal, and only shipping to the U.S.

if you really wanted to eliminate the scammers you could make it to where you have to approve a member to bid or something of the likes, I forget how it works.

I think the immediate payment and only shipping to the US is probably enough. 99% of the scammers assume that you are retarded, so they send fake paypal emails saying funds have been added but won't be transferred until you ship it and provide a tracking number.

If anyone knows more about approving the buyer, or how it works, let me know. thanks
