Hey,

I've told him again and again that 400 max is too cheap for a 32" HDTV, but my dad just won't listen to me. Now I'm in a pickle. How do I find an HDTV, 32" at that, and for under 400 bucks?! He said it atleast has to have a 700:1 contrast.

I need help guys. Mostly because pretty much every tv we have (except for my computer monitor) has been standard def. which we all know is soon to be obso. So we've decided to upgrade but can't put 100 bucks on top of the 400 he's decided we're gonna pay, so yeah.

LMK what you guys think.

I just did a quick search at Newegg just for reference and the biggest HDTV I found there for under $500 was a couple 27" Widescreen LCD's, dunno about quality though. And being wide screen it will seem more like a 24" screen than 27" in a way at least that's how I see them.

So yeah, you're gonna have to look hard to find a decent HDTV at that screen size.

Here's a 32" HDTV at buy.com (http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=204847762&SearchEngine=Shopper&SearchTerm=204847762&Type=PE&Category=Elec&Gad=0&dcaid=15889)

And here is the Review at CNET (http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-and-plasma/vizio-vx32l-hdtv/4505-6482_7-32165930.html?tag=sub)

I've been happy with my Vizio LCD HDTV for some time now. Have a look at SAMS Club and see what they're running at that size. We bought a 46", so I can't give you a good price comparison. However, after doing lots of research, I found that a Vizio is in most cases better than the lower end of a name brand.
