Animation

I am looking for some software good for animating 2D characters kind of in the form on Anime or Saturday morning cartoons. I am curious if anyone here knows of something other than Flash for this.

Probably Toon Boom or something from Bauhaus Software. I've not tried either myself though, but thoses are two names I've heard tossed around.

I used Director at uni but I think that is just the same as flash. It worked pretty well and you could make your animation much more interactive.

No interactivity, used Director... good for games and many programs. I might just use Flash instead but I'll check out those other programs, I might try to do a small animation the old fashioned way, I really like the style of animation used in the music video Breaking the Habit by Linkin Park. I'll not be able to do it that well but I am a pretty good drawer I'll draw the lines and render it in flash or something.
