Making a bootdisc on a Flashdrive?

My brothers computer won't start up and it comes up with the error saying cannot load OS, So we were thinking that maybe a bootdisc might work but I dont know how to go about making one of these, if you guys could help that would be much appreciated

the easiest was is to create a BartPE enviroment.

after you build it pump out the source files to a directory then use this app to make a USB drive bootable and copy the files to it

that will get you into the machine in a PE enviroment. perhaps then you can fix the underlying issues.

What happens if it cant find the windows installation files on the computer that Im using

do you have a windows 2000, or windowx xp cd? thats waht its looking for

I have Windows XP, but I tried it on another computer and got the source files but still couldnt fix the problems with my brothers computer oh well, I found other ways to do it but I dont feel like spending money on it anyway he says the data wasnt that important so ya.
