Promise SX6000 RAID won't rebuild

This is a repost.

I have a Promise SX600 - Raid 5 with 6x250mb drives. I have had 2 drives fail and replaced them with 2x250mb new drives. I expected the raid to rebuild itself but it only comes up as OFFLINE. It sees the 2 drives but their ASSIGMENT is FREE instead of ARRAY1.

Any help would be great

raid 5 can only rebuild its self if 1 drive has failed. Raid 5 cant sustain more that one drive failure. In order to sustain 2 drives failing at once the array would have to be in Raid6.

You need some professional drive recovery at this point. A RAID 5 with two dead drives is pretty much hosed, man. Sorry :-/
