I'm considering a Q6600 or a E6850 after the prices drop at the end of July. These two boards seem very similar in specs but the prices are vastly different. Could someone explain why they are so different?

Also, i know there's a million threads around the web on Q6600 vs E6850's but if you have your opinion I'm all ears.

Thanks

The DS3P is the heavily-neutered version of the DQ6. It does not receive the high-quality components, does not overclock as well, can not support DDR1066 out of the box, etc.

I would personally go with a Q6600.

If you don't need all the bells and whistles of the DQ6, the DS3R (or DS3P) boards are a good choice too. They will still overclock pretty damn well and if you are on a budget they are a great second choice behind the DQ6. Now if you can afford the DQ6 then by all means get it but the DS3R's actually aren't very far behind the DQ6 in overclocking ability.
