Viewing videos within firefox

Hi all,

I hope u guys can help me out here. I am trying to find some way to view videos inside firefox but so far got no luck. I am able to play some videos, but with others a msg pops up sayind do u want to save or open this file etc instead of playing it inside firefox. is there anyway i can watch ALL videos inside firefox?

another problem i have is that some of the videos that do play, they play 2 different ways

1 - full screen without any pause/forward/rewind controls
2 - a quicktime video (has controls but the screen is really small)

so i was wondering if there was something i can install that will let me view all videos inside firefox, and has controls, and possibly an adjustible screen.

It depends on the website. There's nothing you can install that will let you do what you're seeking.

oh i dont think i was clear. I meant to say i couldn't view the files that are in "directories".

For example:
http://www.mountainbiketours.com/video/

These videos i can view fullscreen inside the browser but with no controls

For these ones:
http://www.thelenarzcrew.com/files/

The first one (101_4870.MOV) i can view with quicktime
The third one (40raassault.wmv) it asks me to download


NOTE: I think if its .mpg .mpeg or .MOV i can play it with quicktime. Also it says (video/quicktime Object) at the top of the browser.

If its .AVI it plays fullscreen and says (video/x-msvideo Object) at the top of browser.

Right. How those videos play is entirely dependent upon your plug-ins. Firefox itself cannot play videos. Firefox has to call up another program to handle it. Some plug-ins have setting boxes which allow you to alter how they react to the video files, but most just run the way the developers want them to, and there really isn't anything to do for it.

To really get the most control over the way the videos play: I would download them, and play them in WMP. There are some neat add-ons for Firefox that will let you download entire listings of files at a time, which might help as well.
