HELP......
My outlook express has gone crazy..
I get anywhere from 5 to 100 duplicates of every email and it will not let me delete any of them. I have close to 1000 email in my inbox and can't get rid of any of them.
Can someone please help me????

I am running XP-service pack 2
Internet Explorer 6 on a Dell 4700

Thanks,

First you need to temporarily stop more emails from coming in. Just go in and delete the password from your email account.

There could be a couple possible problems. 1st is that your mail files are corrupted and will need to be purged. 2nd if you are using any sort of av/spam filter software the link between your email program and it could have gotten messed up and it's not correctly downloading your email from your ISP and they aren't getting purged in the process.

If your mailboxes are corrupted the easiest way is to backup any emails you want and then just delete the identity and create a new one. Here are some good instructions (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/community/columns/oerepair.mspx) on recreating/repairing OE in general.

If it's a link between OE and any av/spam guard software often deleting and recreating your account will fix it. If not you may have to uninstall/reinstall your av/spam software.

But we can narrow down more specific help after you've checked these things out and start to narrow down the problem.
