Calling BS, <a href="http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/calling-bullshit/james-randi-offers-1-million-if-audiophiles-can-prove-7250-speaker-cables-are-better-305549.php" target="_blank">Some rich guy</a> offers $1 MILLION to anybody who can prove that $7,250 audio cables that "dance" are better than store-bought Monster audio cables. No takers yet. Surprised?

Honestly - read the review (http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue32/anjou.htm). Is this guy ****ing serious?
In the midrange, if push came to shove, I would say that compared to the other cables the Anjous create a slightly leaner and less full or rich sound. Can anybody possibly take this drivel seriously? :wtf:

oh I can't get enough. It just goes on and on:
<blockquote>Through my system, all the cables offered-up a sweet well-extended high-end that was grain-free. Airy and nice. Not much to fault at this price range. They are all extremely competitive, though naturally the Audio-Magic Clairvoyant 4Ds bring their silvery lushness and airey-ness-ness character to the table, while the Anjous and Emotions bring their sense of copper, and the Nebulas that of a blend. I could live with any of these.</blockquote>
AIREY-NESS-NESS omgffs
Their "SENSE OF COPPER"
He could LIVE with any of these SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLAR STUPID SPEAKER CABLES. What a douche.
Wow, strong under the table payment for review.

I wonder how hard it was for him to type. I mean, it must be hard to see the screen when you've got your head so far up the other guy's ass... I'm just sayin'.

You got to love his commitment to horrible grammer-ammer-ammer. Good old airyness-ess.
I laugh at the fact that he actually thinks that those cables make the sound oh so much better. Most people forget that the environment that the speakers are in will affect sound quality way more than a cable would.
Sometimes, I muffle my speakers with a coffee pot full of ****, because I feel that the added density of the medium really enhances the sound. It gives it a warm, rich tone that I can't find any other way. It's a <i>burbley-ness</i> that can't be described.

My coffee pot full of **** gives a nice crisp, clear sound....

Oh man, it's on!
Pear CEO Adam Blake has accepted (http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/calling-bull****/updated-journalist-accepts-1-million-challenge-do-7250-cables-sound-better-or-not-311034.php) the challenge to a double-blind test! :D

I mean, he almost has to.... When you are selling cable that costs over $7200 a pair, and someone calls BS on you with a MILLION ****ING DOLLARS TO BACK IT UP, you stand to lose a LOT of credibility if you don't do something about it :-/
If even so much as one person picks the cables that aren't $7200 I'll consider them BS, because at that price the difference should be crystal clear.

I cable is a cable. Any speaker cable, no matter the price, will produce the same sound assuming it has the same gauge and composition of wire.
My $10 roll of Parts Express 12 gauge speaker wire sounds just as good as 12 gauge Monster Cable. I'm willing to bet the human ear couldn't detect a difference between that and the $7250 cable. Not that I have a million bucks to lay on the line, though.
By the way, James Randi is a professional debunker. He's the guy who challenged Uri Geller back in the '70s, and he also offers a million dollar prize for anyone who can provide scientific proof of the paranormal. So far, of course, he's gotten to keep his million dollars. I have a feeling he will keep it with the speaker cable too.
I disagree with that assessment. I notice a very large increase in speaker quality going from crappy solid copper to the monster cables, but having heard many other hifi cables, I can't tell the difference up from there.

Solid copper? I have never used a solid copper wire for speaker wiring, nor would I.
Simple physics dictates that if you have a properly shielded wire with the same conductivity at the same gauge you will have the same sound, whether or not the brand name carries high-powered marketing.

Right, but that's simple physics. We're talking complex bull**** physics here, where simple physics has no place.
