That's right! Icrontic's first Oktoberfest!!!!!
When: November 1st - 4th, 2007 (yes I know thats not October....)
Location: IcronticHQ (also known as primesuspect's house) Warren, MI
What to bring: !beerz...honestly...bring your favorite autumn beer, so we can sample them all (also known as fatcat drinks all your !beerz) We will we touring some of the area's finest breweries/pubs/bars/etc. And, bring your puter/laptop/mac/iphone/blackberry/whatever so we can play some Team Fortress 2 lan style if you choose.
I believe we have some sleeping supplies leftover from the LAN, but a cot/air matress/sleeping bag/hotel/pillow/etc wouldnt be a bad idea either.
If you're not the drinking type, come by anyways, as we always have a great time hanging out @ IcronticHQ!!
Reply in this thread if you plan to attend and what beer you might bring, so we (them) can get an idea of how many gonna be around.
Thanks!
It may be fall, but I'll be in the house with Hoegaarden and Leinenkugel Summer Shandy -- my two favorites.
Also, a trip to Royal Oak Brewery is in order.

Very true sir! The Oktoberfest festivities are going on here now also. The original plan was in October, on Columbus day weekend, but that fell through. Besides I might actually arrive in October and have one before midnight ;D
Alright, just asked for time off. Half-a-day on the 31st, and off the 1st and 2nd. MAN I hope it doesn't snow....

5 Oct 2007, 8:13pm
I'm not going to ask what your recipe is, Eric, but is this a meat sauce or a marinara sauce?
Oh, and I love mushrooms. Especially the flavor they pick up in a pasta sauce. The acidity of the tomato seems to do something to the mushroom's texture that allows it to turn into pure flavor.
RyderOCZ
5 Oct 2007, 8:16pm
Oh crap GH....it is a Meat sauce...but I use Ground Turkey.
The base of the sauce cooks for 3 days, then the meat goes in on the last day. I can pull some of the sauce out before adding the meat if you like (or for anyone else for that matter) :)

Three days of cooking! Wow, that sounds awesome! The full-blown version of my family recipe only cooks for 24 hours, and most people think that's overkill. They don't realize how much flavor develops over a sloooooow cook.
If you pull some aside before the meat's addition, that would be awesome! Althout at that point I might start trying to pry the secret recipe out of you. ;)

Join us in Warren, MI for an Icrontic Oktoberfest at Brian's house, aka IcronticHQ. Bring your own sleeping arrangement (cot, pad, blanket, etc) and, of course, beer. We may have a special gift in store for attendees as well.
Plan to visit Kunnhenn's Brewery (http://www.kbrewery.com) and the Royal Oak Brewey (http://beercos.realfocus.net/main_page.php?**********royal) during the weekend. The festivities will be November 1-4. Ask for directions if you need 'em.

As Oktoberfest comes to a close....
I just want to thank everyone for a great time! There were many challenges, some verbal, some silent...BUT NO ONE COULD OUT DRINK TEH FATCAT! Some thought they could just out drink me, and they are praying to porcelian god right now, others are wondering how they could possibly out do me next time. ;)
Anyways, The First Annual Oktoberfest was a huge success!!! Plans are possibly in store for Mardi Gras this spring

I can't stress enough how perfect this gnome was. As in, down to the detail of the swirls on the beard, not to mention the *exact* color, etc. it was the *exact* same gnome.
