View Full Version : iTunes and Folder Organization on Macs

I was thinking of transferring all my music onto my Mac as I have a lot more room for it. However, I like my music to all be in the same folder as Artist - Title, very similar to the way iTunes organizes it.

However, even when iTunes organizes the music, none of the files are named easily, they are each split into artist folders, album sub-folders, and named like 1_have_mercy_on_me-the_black-keys.mp3

To me this is really irritating and was wondering if anyone knew how to force iTunes to change how it reorganizes music. On my PC I just manually add songs to do this, but I was trying to see if there was a quicker way.

*Edit*

Basically I would like for iTunes to rename files the way Zortam does on the PC, if anyone has used that.

Well, I ended up finding a great script to do it, you can find it here:

Wewt! I hate how the method that just works just sucks. I'll be renaming mine to the right way now.
