I had a copy of "The Lost Levels" on my "Super Mario All Stars" SNES cartridge. Was that a cut down version as well, or is that the same thing that they've just released via virtual console?

Lost Levels was a revamped Mario 2 with pretty graphics and some tweaks to make it less mind numbingly hard. The Virtual Console game is the real Mario 2 with all its warts.

I find it difficult now to play any single player game that doesn't have any sort-of save game feature... :P
