Okay, idk if anybody has heard or used microsofts foldershare program, but it allows for easy access to any file on ur pc from a secure website. So i've been having a problem. The program uses upnp for its data sharing. I've went through mcaffee firewall, windows firewall, and my routers settings to allow for upnp usage and to allow access to the ports that the program uses(tcp 80,443,6571,8000). But the program is still only running on my lan instead of on the web. Idk if anyone knows how to fix this or if it can be fixed, but if it can, could somebody help?

here are my relevant pc specs:
router----linksys wrt54g
ISP------comcast cable high speed internet
os-------windows xp home edition sp2

Instead of using UPnP use port forwarding on your router. Create a rule that any outside requests on those ports are forwarded to the same ports on the inside. Next dissable your windows firewall, if you are running mcaffee you don't need it. Then in mcaffee make a rule that allows those ports to pass. However for testing purposes I'd disable both your firewalls until and get your router working first, then worry about the firewall software.

Also when you are trying to access your router from the outside world I hope you are putting in the the IP that your router is being assigned by your ISP and not the one your router is assigning to your PC.

Also it is not considered good practise to have 2 firewalls active at once.

well it depends on what the firewalls are protecting... you can have two and set them to be walls for different features

he mentions mcaffee firewall, windows firewall so i assumed they were running on the same machine.
