An SLK 9xx with the right fan should outperform the TT, but that's a subjective statement not backed with proof. The finish quality of the TT's isn't normally as good as an SLK. The upside to the TT would probably be ease of mounting plus the fancy fan controller.

The Volcano will not perform anywhere near the same level as an SLK-900; I've used Tt Volcanos before; for stock systems, they're fine, and the 12 should be good for some overclocking, but at higher heat dissipation rates, the Volcano is going to become saturated faster than an SLK-900 or SLK-800 would, all other things being equal.
