It has come to my attention that many people seem to dislike Spudz, from Icrontic. What's your opinion on him??
I didn't much like him, but I'll miss him!

Have to say, I didnt like spudz. I could never understand what he had to to with a computer site.

Slightly less harsh options would be nice ;) He was an odd mascot, but he was ours no less :)

He had 'tude, and liked that. But he wasn't 'tech'enough for a computer site.
A new mascot is going to be hard.
But it will be a fun thread.

I wasn't in love with the guy, but I wouldn't say I hated him.

I for one, will not miss Spudz. Never did figure out what that dumb-looking ape had to do with anything.
What is good though, is to see you guys posting here! It's good to have an Internet home again.

Someone sent me an Adobe Illustrator file with a ton of Spudz pics before. I was never able to open it (no adobe illustrator), but I can see the mini-preview when I open the folder with it in it.

Here's the actual file. Maybe somebody could put it to good use.
i didn't like spudz. I didn't understand his connection to the site, or the meaning of his name. He played a very small part in our community for a mascot.

The artwork was great ...gotta give credit. Just didn't do it for me as far as representing the site goes.

I never really thought either way about Mr. spudz...
As a tribute to spudz and Icrontic however, I think Im gonna let him stay, sittin pretty, on my cheesy little Icrontic case badge I scored some time back...
That is, until I can nab a short-media one. Only then will I retire the hokey little pimpstar ;P
Bah.

Got it. I really didn't think too much about spudz. He served his purpose.

I actually liked him. Just a cool image on the top. Would't consider him as a mascot. Never saw anything wrong about it.

He really didn't affect me one way or another. He was just there.;)

Heh... Spudz was tight G... what what...
In other words, no, he was stupid and had nothing to do with computers. That dumb picture did nothing but make Icrontic look rediculous... Thank god he's gone.
So regardless of what we all thought of Spudz, are we going to get ourselves a new mascot in the future or something to that effect?

My initial reaction to Spudz (way back when) was very negative. I will admit that he grew on me over time, but I think that was mostly due to the fact that my overall affection for Icrontic increased over time.
He was kind of like some of those goofy sports mascots, like the Philly Phanatic, or Slider (Cleveland Indians). They are kind of dumb in their own right, but your love of the team causes you to accept them, warts and all.
Prof:thumbsup:
PS: I wouldn't mind having a mascot for S-M, but I think it ought to be something more readily identifiable with computers and less likely to evoke images of a teenage mafioso:p

Screamin' Delta Jones: Wasn't he an old blues singer? - but I do like it!

I think the folding team needs one, but not really the site in general.

Glad you bumped it. I see that I voted back in 2003 that I didn't like him, but now my opinion's changed. I must be getting sentimental in my old age :D

Yeah, knew how old the thread was... The size of the image blew me away... masssive... absolutely.... gigantor! Almost fell out of my seat laughing when I saw the size of it, but it seemed fitting somehow. Funny tho, it was normal size on photobucket...
