Hai guys, my mum opened a word document this morning and here's a sample of what it came out like:

Large Cotswold Cobbles INCLUDEPICTURE "http://www.stonemarket.co.uk/images/cobbles_boulders/triangle.gif" \* MERGEFORMATINET
200-300mm waterworn and rounded
Cotswold Chippings Derbyshire White 10-14 mm
10 - 14mm pale grey limestone chippings

Is anyone other than me thinking: what the hell?!
there's some more stuff but since it's coding it won't display properly, but you get the idea.
Thanks in advance

Did she receive it from Nigerian royalty?

Yes, that's exactly where she got it from. They are personal friends.

I don't really get what the emergency is here... A word document isn't displaying properly?

Yeah, it was some images arranged on a word document with some notes, and that's what came out when it was opened. It's college work and she kinda needs it asap.

See, that makes more sense than your original message. Have you tried opening this document on multiple versions of word, redownloaded the original, or taken it to a different computer?

How was the document received?
How was it sent?

We don't have multiple versions of word at our disposal unfortunately. It works on my PC, but not the PC downstairs, on which I made a reply to this 2 days ago but apparently never got posted ¬_¬. It's on a memory stick, so it wasnt sent by mail. Hope that helps.

Reinstall her copy of office, or try OpenOffice.

If this is an Office 2007 document you have to get the pluggins to open that kind of document on older versions of office.

It's Office 2003

Office 2003 also has a newer format then previous versions of office that can cause some compatibility issues.
