The MPAA has been throwing out statistics and accusations regarding piracy for ages. Now the truth has been revealed: The MPAA <strike>is full of s..</strike> likes to lie.
<a href="http://gizmodo.com/347985/mpaa-did-we-say-44-of-piracy-was-done-by-students-we-meant-15-our-bad">Gizmodo</a> reports that the MPAA has been claiming that a massive 44% of all illegal movie downloading was done by college students. However, their statistic is a little off. It turns out that college students are really only responsible for 15% of illegal movie activity.
In response to their "small" error, the MPAA responded:
"We take this error very seriously and have taken strong and immediate action to both investigate the root cause of this problem as well as substantiate the accuracy of the latest report.
Tsk, Tsk, Tsk!
