The ultra-low voltage world is not typically an exciting one. It's packed with CPUs that struggle to decode MPEG content, are burdened with slow boot times, and no FP power to speak of. Centaur Technologies, a wholly-owned subsidiary of VIA, is looking to change all that with the Isaiah.

It plays Blu-ray content, it decodes 720p video, it plays Crysis. The Isaiah is looking to completely reject the traditional notion of an UMPC CPU, and while the Crysis experience was not earth-shattering, this is one giant leap for ULV CPU-kind.

Wait, one thing that confuses me:

It plays Blu-Ray, but does that mean it will decode 1080p in realtime? They called out 720p - but 1080p?

It decodes 1080p blu-ray, and also was doing 720p in a desktop-run benchmark.
