As part of understanding wifes birthday pressi to me she took me to the theatre yesterday. Hobsons choice - http://www.thelowry.com/WhatsOn/EventDetail.aspx?EventId=3043
at the Lowery. Brilliant. A 1700 seat venue which was packed, we were in the fifth row from the front in the center, great seats. We don't do theatre often enough. Then we picked up our eldest son and met daughter (and grandson and boyfriend) and all went for a meal.
I wish all Saturdays could be like that.

Sounds like you had a good time, my other half and I went to see "Blood Brothers" in the Empire Theatre (it's an English play in England, Liverpool) on New years eve.
I haven't been to the theatre since I was a nipper so it was a nice change, we then went for a meal and a few drinks.
If only we could go out more often, but it makes it nicer when it does happen!

Over the summer I did a course abroad about theater in England, where all I did for a month was watch theater in London and Stratford. It was absolutely amazing. I got to see King Lear with Ian McKellan in it (annnd he got naked) and the infamous Equus with naked Harry Potter and tons of other great shows. I would def recommend that if any of you get a chance to visit England to hit up London for some theater.

Oh no! My thread has been hijacked by a naked dude.
Better than Christmas being hijacked by a half-naked bothered. Or maybe that's 50% better. OH MY GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE.

Yea, I guess there was a lot of nekkid mens. We also saw some butts. No naked women, sadly- in fact, most of the shows we saw were male dominated. They were still amazing though, and the whole experience was great- there's nothing like living in Notting Hill for a month! :D
As far as half naked Bothereds...well...uhh.. I don't know about that...I like Christmas though! :)
One of my favorite parts of living in Philadelphia is getting to go to the theatre whenever I want (an usually for cheap!). Large shows at the Academy of Music, tiny indie shows at any one of the bagillion theatres all over Center City. They're all delicious. I'll miss it when I GTFO of here.
