<p>When Amazon first took the lids off of their ambitious plan to sell DRM-free MP3s to fight iTunes, it was stifled by the fact that the offer would only be available in the US. Fast-forward to today, and Amazon <a href="http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/01/27/1438232&from=rss">is announcing</a> that they will be expanding their efforts globally later in 2008.</p>
<p>With the big four record labels on Amazon's side, what's reported as a sizable library, and no want for better pricing, Amazon could be a real contender to iTunes soon. Is Jeff Bezos crazy or brilliant? Maybe both! </p>
