Alright, I've had a chest cold for the past week now and today it got a whole lot worse. So I decided to call the doctor, but both doctors in the office were booked up. Holy crap how many people are sick now. I just want to take a quick show of hands to see how far in the US this chest cold is.

Symptoms:

1) Bad cough
2) chest pain when coughing
3) Ear pain or itching
4) Fatigue
5) sinus problems

Who got it.

I talked to the school today and she said they sent FIFTY kids home yesterday.

It's Influenza type A, from what I'm hearing.

I had it all weekend, tracey had it, both kids had it, sister-in-law and her three kids had it, the list goes on.

Just getting over one now. Never went to the doc though, I took Ibuprofen (sp?) for my achy joints as well as sinus and cold tablets. Alas, I can finally breath through the nostrils again.

Entire family had it and I am fighting it REAL hard. I am not getting it as fast so I hope it will be less severe... we'll see. :(

I've had it for the past week, just getting over it now. Luckily I have some strong painmeds and also took some reactine and generic cold and flu medicine. It is rampant here in Vic BC at any rate, don't know about the rest of Canada.

My roommate had something similar, but the doctors diagnosed it as pneumonia. So far I've been able to avoid it, thankfully.

I count myself as one of the lucky ones.

My wife had it, most of her family had it, along with half my office.

I haven't even had the sniffles..................................................yet:clap:

Actually, haven't even had a cold for about a year now...

Minus ear pain (add plugged or diminished hearing) and I've been sick with the same thing for almost two months now.

So is this the "epidemic" that the media had us so freaked out about?

It's not so bad.

I haven't gotten sick yet. No one in my family has yet either (still living with my mom and sis LOL) but as some of you may have heard last night, Weezer got it badly. He lives about 25 minutes away from me. A few of my local friends have gotten it as well.

Only thing I can do is keep hitting the vitamin C and staying healthy. Sounds like this is one bug I need to stay away from.

Well let see hospitals use alcohol to kill germs. The way I see
it that's why we drink to fight germs on the germs play field, the inside.:)
The badder the germs the higher the proof ( that's just a rule to thumb ):D

I had everything 'cept for the ear thing. 1/24-1/31. Just have the sinus stuff now, almost gone. Seems like it's a 2-week thing, all together.

Last time I got sick was post-Thanksgiving, only lasted 2 days. Only got it because the boyfriend had it and we spent about 5 days together during the holiday.

Edit: But I'm going to drink more just in case there are any bad germs that are gunnin' for me.

So would this be the equivalent of us young-ins who can't drink, taking vitamins and drinking orange juice? Cause your way sounds more fun...

First it's not fun it's necessities when us old folks get sick we're
in a real bad way cause we have to take care of ourself.
So if a little Wild Turkey will help me sleep I'm for it.
Passed out is better than puking.

Surprisingly, I haven't been sick in awhile.

/me knocks on wood

I usually get really sick every 3-4 weeks but I have changed my eating habits fwiw. Drink more water and juices with lots of vitamin c.

Sucks that eating healthy isn't cheaper.

Wife is sick again..

...spent the weekend doing my husbandly duties during situations like this.

1. Wash dishes
2. Wash dog (kept eyeing the bottom rack on the dishwasher...) LOL!
3. Make wife breakfast, lunch, dinner...
4. Grocery store Gatorade runs
5. Make her as comfortable as possible....

I still feel fine, not even a sniffle....
