Serious PC issues

I have posted once, but with no replies. I hope someone can lend a helping hand... I ahve downloaded several virus/spyware scanning programs and none of them ever seem to find any serious threats besides cookies. My computer keeps restarting on its own and I often am not able to run certain programs without saying it has encountered an error and needs to close (error report). This is EXTREMELY frustrating. I thought I had alleviated the problem, but it has come back with a vengeance. I shall post a hijack this log just in case, but it seems to be clean. What can I do besides wiping everything out?

Apologies for the long delay in response. If you still need assistance, please post a fresh HijackThis log.

Scan your computer with Panda ActiveScan (http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm) also, and post the results back here
Once you are on the Panda site, click the Scan your PC button
A new window will open...click the Check Now button
Enter your Country
Enter your State/Province
Enter your e-mail address and click send
Select either Home User or Company
Click the big Scan Now button
If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan
(Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
When download is complete, click on Local Disks to start the scan
When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Do NOT lose it!
