AVG Free always wants a restart!

I've been using the AVG Free antivirus program for a few years now, and it has always worked well for me.

Once in a while when it gets its updates each night, it needs a restart to complete its installation.

But for the past 2 months or so, it wants a restart almost EVERY day, maybe 6 days a week.

It's a small thing but it's still annoying. Could there be something wrong with the program? I could try deleting it all and removing the program and then reinstalling it, I just thought I'd ask here first before doing that.

Has anyone else had that problem?

I don't use AVG, so I couldn't say.

It sounds like a common problem according to Google (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=avg+restart+update&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a).

Check your Grisoft folder in Program Files to see if it shows more than one AVG folder. If it does, you have a remnant from a previous AVG update. Deleting the older of the two or better yet, uninstalling/reinstalling AVG may resolve the matter.
