NFS Most wanted - nice graphics and cars (eyecandy central for a car guy)
World of Warcraft (thanks to my flatmate lettin me play this on his system, Im now building my first rig:buck: )

So what do we all like to play and why?

Generals Zero hour at the moment, trying to complete every map against the maximum amount of hardest AI (to get the highest honor for each map) but to be honest I'm getting bored of that as it's far too easy.

Can't say I'm really playing anything else, getting a little bored of gaming, that and not being able to afford anything, heh.

The best game I've recently played is F.E.A.R.
CoD2 online is good fun as is HL2 single player. Biggest dissapointment is Hitman Blood Money which I got yesterday.

GW's environment and graphics are as engrossing as it's story. The fact that you can customize your character over and over again with different stats is a big big plus. And, it goes by a 1 time payment.

I prefer WC3's gameplays style to C&C, though I've played both. Blizzard kinda excels in this area I suppose.

Psychonauts is a fantastic game. I think everyone should play it at least once. The story and characters are just so incredibly over-the-top.

Marathon (http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34233) is the best game of all time. It revolutionized multiplayer FPS, but what do you expect from Bungie? But I could go on forever about Marathon...

My current favorite game is Company of Heroes for PC. Any of you old Starcraft fans should check this game out. Yes it's a WWII Real-Time Strategy game, but it's the first RTS I've played since Starcraft to give me that same rush of excitement while playing, and to keep me on the edge of my seat all day at work just waiting to go home and play. The MOST fun in FPS's was Doom, Quake & Unreal We'd drag 486's everywhere to play some MP Doom... 100's of maps, ipxfer (Now theres history) the whole nine yards... Simple but FUN, something todays games lack...

HL2's player interaction with the game and it's looks are just short of AMAZING but the fun that was Doom is just not there.

AnotherWorld (http://www.anotherworld.fr/anotherworld_uk/index.htm) is back, 15 years later on the PC... Ahhh the old Amiga Days. Check it out they did a great job on the conversion...

Yes, that is quite an experience.
I was the president of an online F1 race club. We ran full seasons 100% simulation, down to Reconnaissance, Formation laps and season weather.
Our players were from all over the world. Latvia, UK, Germany, Australia, Russia, Turkey, Spain, Canada and a couple of us here in the states. We ran the club for 3 years and it was some of the best gaming I have ever done. I really miss it too.

Also played Joint Operations for about two years... OMG, I loved that long time :D Not too much so special about it, but was my first online game and I just absolutly got 100% hooked on it.. playing with other peeps was just an absolute blast.

Just got Armed Assault which looks really promising, but seem to have a problem with it which causes blue screen crashes.

SDI, if you liked Joint ops a lot, as I did, then see if you can find a copy of Delta Force Extreme. I think Amazon.com still has it. Then go to the Bear Force Swarm and get the Bear Force Mod. It is bigger than the game itself. I think you can find the mod at DFBarracks too. There is also a map pack with 250 coop maps in it. You will not believe what these guys did to the original game. The graphics are on par with todays games and Nova World always has a ton of servers up...

We used to be into Guild Wars pretty big, but never got past the first game, let alone all the expansions that have come out since... Just saw in PC Gamer that they are delaying the next expansion because they are working on Guild Wars 2...

True in part.. they never really made expansions as such b4; they were stand alone games that interconnected, so-called chapters. They seem to have figured they've gone as far as they can with the GW1 model and are going to pursue a new game, GW2, tho dont expect to start beta until 2007-8. In the meantime, having abandoned stand alone 'chapters', they're going to fill the wait for GW2 with an expansion of end game content accessable to any1 playing one of the previous three chapters, supposedly wrapping up some of the lose ends... and mebe some free content after that.

Still got a real soft spot for the game, had never seen anything like it b4. I've tried a few others MMO when my attention waned, but nothing grabbed me like GW did.. still dipping in.

Be looking for you in the game if you get it. Nova has released the mod tools for free, that is how the guys on BearForce made the mod. NovaWorld will be kind of on and off for the next 2 weeks, they are moving and upgrading their servers. We just log into them but play the game through Hamchi.

Ahh yes .... I can't believe they just dropped it. We play inhouse up to 4 players and it's a blast. Nothing more satisfying than to see your opponent blow up into tiny pieces ... specially with the A-Bomb. :^) Originally you needed IPX but it plays fine in TCP!

The HL series have been my favorite ever since I started playing back in 1999. The flexible engines, limitless expandability and ease of use always brought me back for more. I've been playing a mod or extension of the series almost every day for 8 years. That's saying something about a game's longevity.

Battlefield 1942 made me feel horribly ill from motion sickness :cool2: The game literally almost made me throw up... Oh, and the graphics made me want to cry :tongue: Although the first fps I ever played was Ghost Recon 2: Advanced Warfare, so I got used to good graphics quickly xD

Oh how I long for a new mech game!!!! Anyone else play Earthsiege 2 or Heavy Gear 2? These were amazing games for their time and if some company would resurrect the mech genre, with today's gaming possibilities (think amazing graphics, sounds, storylines!!!!) I would be insanely happy!

Oh yeah, the possibilities! Mech Assault gave us a taste of what could be possible visually for last-gen systems. (Sadly, it was watered down and favored arcade styles). But now that the rights to the Mechwarrior franchise is in the hands of the founder of FASA, we could probably expect a new mech game within a year or so. I can't wait.

Does anybody else long for a new Myst or something? I'm tired of shooting and driving, I want a real mystery, no guns blazing, just something I have to think about and meander through at my own pace and solve puzzles and junk. Uncharted got close, but ended up with way too much action.

Is there such a game on the market now? Sadly, even with compatibility mode, Myst for Windows 95 won't install on Vista :/ Haha.

As far as my favorite games, I'm stuck on the Orange Box (gonna replay the whole HL series soon), COD4, currently engrossed in GH3 (6 songs left on expert), and am picking up Army of Two when it comes out and impatiently awaiting Spore and MGS4.

The last Myst game released was like "Myst: the last one" or something like that. So I dunno if another is in the works. I get my adventure gaming fix from old games like Sam & Max: Hit the Road, or any other LucasArts game.

Have you tried Dosbox? (http://www.dosbox.com/) You might be able to get Myst to work on that.

I can't recommend new puzzle/adventure games because I haven't played 'em ;)

It can do anything DOS or Win95 could do. Install, uninstall, run, configure sound, video, etc.

Myst is dead, theres one more coming out i beleive, then you need to get your myst fix with uru on gametap.

In Smash I used to be a HUGE Link fan, but the little I've messed with him in Brawl doesn't feel the same, knockout power didn't feel that great, but I may not given him enough time.

On the other hand, Ike is a beast, slow but damned powerful. Kinda feels like some gannon/Marth cross or something.
