Where to find logs of everything installed and its directories?

I am going to install some plugins from a site and want to know where I can find logs of my activity of things I install and where they are so I can uninstall them later manually.

I mean logs of hidden installs and directories where all the plugins are installed.

Some times installed programs don't show up on the control panel and sometimes it doesn't completely remove them.

Nothing not even windows xp has a log system?

There are uninstall programs around that log registry changes and file placements so that it's easier to uninstall but it's been awhile since I've known of these programs. Norton used to have one with their System Works.
