Aquamark won't run ???

I have tried several different download sites and installs same thing.....On the main opening screen where you choose what you want to do the only things that work are "Demo " and "Exit" when you mouse over anything else or try clicking it....it makes a noise and goes to a different screen for about a second then comes right back to the main screen. It does this for
Select measurements
special features
options
credits
and register

I had tried downloading this about a month ago and the samething happened...I have just installed an ATI AIW 98000 pro and did a complete remove and clean of all Nvidia drivers. I thought it may have been related to that so I tried it again with the new card and drivers , no go. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have a clue how to fix it ?

DX8 or 9? Only 9 works on Aquamark.
Otherwise, i can olny guess AGP drivers, which should be in the chipset drivers. Any other proggys that is weird? 3dmark 2001?

DX9.0b is installed. 3Dmark2001 runs fine (18700!). All my other games and apps run fine. I just checked intels driver list and I have the latest chipset drivers.

Does it work better if you dont overclock? Aquamark is more sensitive than 3dmark on the cpu. Much more.

All Clocks are default. VC and CPU. The demo runs just fine. But I can not get to any other screen

Sounds like an DirectX/driver issue to me then.

I do not think this is a Video issue as it happened the same way a month ago with Nvidia drivers. Also when I installed the 3.7 for the new 9800 pro I reinstalled DX9.

Try this:

Go into Msconfig (start - run - msconfig). Uncheck load startup items and then reboot. See if it will run then. If not post back.

Here is a thought...look at this screen shot. It looks like the exit button is highlighted with the cursor nowhere near it . Would somebody check thiers to see if it looks like this. Maybe it is in some kind of time to exit loop. I tried to select with the keypad and held my cursor over the "Start test " Button and got it to run the benchmark but I am not even sure what I ran.

After disableing start up items it ran just fine. Now I guess I have to figure out which one of those items is the culprit. about 10 of them. Norton , zone alarm , creative .......

So I ran a couple benchmarks with everything at default I scored 45070 I then bumped it up with powerstrip to 380 - 400 and got this It did have some speckels.

Cool glad you got it sorted. Just thought I'd add, seeing as I downloaded the bloody thing to see, he he;) the exit button is supposed to be highlighted like that. As illustrated below.

Sorry to make you download it. I do appreciate the effort.
I started shutting things down one by one to see what the offending app was. It was the "Energizer" File saver app for my ups. With it off and everything else on it runs fine.

With another mainboard, that setup is a killer.
Even a little springdale board would rock the pants. Dang!
