I’m sure pretty much everyone has played Portal: The Flash Version (http://portal.wecreatestuff.com/) by now. It’s a brilliant unofficial 2D interpretation of the game’s crazy portally mechanic, and was the only thing a lot of us had to tide us over until the actual game was released.
Well, now Portal’s been and gone, and the creators of the 2D maps have decided to translate them into real maps for Valve’s epic, bringing us the original 40 Flash maps as well as some bonuses. They’re only for the PC version for now, but who knows what those mod-loving crazy cats at Valve will do with them (XBLA DLC release, please!) if they prove popular.
So, if you have the PC version of Portal, you can go download the 40MB RAR file (http://portalmaps.wecreatestuff.com/) and relive some of those 2D moments in all their errily familiar 3D glory. The downloadable maps will give you a reported 3+ hours of extra gameplay, which is extremely generous considering the price.
