AT&T has reportedly told its employees no more vacations will be approved (http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2008/05/06/apple-and-att-to-launch-iphone-3g-a-lot-sooner-than-we-think/) from June 15 to July 12. Is that an iPhone 3G we smell? (via DF (http://daringfireball.net/))

Hopefully no AT&T employees were planning to come to the LAN.

Clause 23, §7, P2 of the Icrontic Charter states:
"No person shall attend any Icrontic event who is employed by a corporation which Icrontic has made fun of at any point. This includes technology providers, telecommunications companies, and any and all other corporations that conduct business which Icrontic finds ironic, offensive, humorous, or generally distasteful. Most specifically, Apple and/or AT&T."

Obviously, our charter is dated. Thankfully, it was designed as an open document that can be changed as life unfolds and Icrontic ventures into new, uncharted territory.

The fact that it was written by a couple of drunk guys in sidewalk chalk makes it pretty apparent that the document should have staying power.

I think what's more indicative is that here in the UK the sole network provider for the iPhone, O2, knocked $200 off the price on the 8gb model during May. Needless to say that all stocks of that model and the 16gb have quickly dried up and they anounced that they wont be restocking their high street stores with either model. Only their online store maybe getting some 16gb models in stock any time soon.
So in the UK the only place you can iPhones from today is either via ebay and the like or Apple's own store. The suspicion is that O2 have done this so that they can clear stock for a new model due shortly.
Clause 23, §7, P2 of the Icrontic Charter states:
"...Most specifically, Apple and/or AT&T."
...and the receptionist from Kwitko's company.
