Need to spray Mango tree religiously with a Parafinnic Oil spray (only thing that will kill various pests and molds for long, as it clings through rain storms). Need to spray Grapefruit tree with nutrients as well as fertilize ALL citrus trees. Need to mold treat LAWN, and spray for grubs year round.

Need to feed Palms Epsom Salts and Chelated Lime and a tib of Potash.

Need to find neighbors who like very flavorful natural bananas or eat three to seven hands in a week-- many Rolaids need to accompany natural just off plant bananas. Ditto Mineola Oranges (kinda a cross between a tangelo and an orange), Ditto Avocados, Ditto Mangos, if can keep the garbage man from picking them as fast as they ripen.

Need to keep dog from going near LoQuat tree, results appear as stems coming out boht ends-- our Lab loved them, in any condition, but canine teeth cannot bite off stems and canine digestion cannot handle the skin on them.

Need to pay to replace canal walls when canal maintainance authority runs out of money (we have about 70 MILEs of canal wall panels that will need to be replaced this year, time of labor guessed to be 150 man-MONTHS, from ONE storm, including overtime for dive teams, trench diggers, electricians to stub off live electric lines run out to docks and davits next to walls that also must disappear, and NOT including home owner costs for new docks and davits-- guess for repairs is 7-8 months or more, and three crews with barged cranes are working now adn each crew has an on-call dive team for helping pressure move sand, silt, and baranacles out of way to make panel setting trenches-- panels are groove locked like tongue and groove beams, 3-4 inches thick, rerod reinforced surface hardened CONCRETE which is 8' wide X 15' high with heavy REROD lifting loops-- then after set rerod reinforced cap 7" thick has to be made over whole length of repair). Owners will be assessed, owners with boat docks attached to or next to walls with damaged panels also get to replace DOCKS.

Need to report sinkholes behind canal walls, otherwise get to pay for new walls. (ours did not cave in, three neighbor's walls DID, no insurance available for that).

Oh, need to cool electronic boxes here as if they WERE OC'd even when NOT OC'd or run into $150.00 to $200.00 a month electric bills to AC them and rooms they are in. Boat Club office (8x10 feet in size) has a 40,000 BTU wall AC unit as well as being on central AC, for example-- one door security computer, two copiers.

And you-all have SNOW... :D

I like Florida... Hmm..

And of course, I get to laugh at you all. We don't get snow. We don't get hurricanes. We don't get (big) tornados. Earthquakes are far less common than people think (the last big one in northern CA was in 1989)...

The worst problem we have around here is the democrats... They're like locusts... they take over everything, and destroy everything they touch. We've got seasons for hunting, fishing, etc., why can't we have one for hunting liberals, too? :D

Ya got it nice and easy over there in CA and Florida......
It's about 2oC outside here in cold&wet England.... not nice!

I wish I was in CA right now... believe!

Easy my ass.
[Begin whiny-ass voice here]
It rained yesterday. There were leaves in my swimming pool!!

It's like 45 degrees Fahrenheit outside right now. My car windows are going to be covered in condensation tomorrow morning. And then I'll have to take 30 seconds to squeegee it off. It's awful. :(

[/end whiny-ass voice]

All the "inconveniences" don't really bother me... I just go with the flow. Oh, the only thing that bothers me is all the damn old people who still have drivers licenses around here.

My car is covered with frosty ice right now! It's not right.

If I had a pool, it would be a huge ice cube by now.:wtf:

Geeky1
8 Dec 2003, 5:15am
I...ce? What is this "Ice" you speak of?

;) :D

It was almost warm enough to go swimming here last week, if the pool were still being heated...

mikim
8 Dec 2003, 5:23am
Even if it were summer here, it would be too cold to swim in an unheated pool...

I've gota move to a warmer place!

Geeky1
8 Dec 2003, 5:27am
I wouldn't swim in an unheated pool anyhow. You can't even get me into the water unless it's at least 85*F...

BTW, so I looked up "ice" at Dictionary.com...

You're pulling my chain. Water freezes at like 32*F... NOWHERE gets that cold... :D ;) ;D ;D

mikim
8 Dec 2003, 5:31am
Sure enough, it does here....

If there were snow, I could ski/board, something like that, but it's just cold, no fun.
Well it is 5:20am right now too!

Geeky1
8 Dec 2003, 5:33am
well, that all depends on what you consider fun. I suggest you go find a large, empty parking lot that's got a nice layer of ice on it, and go do donuts. :D

if you can't find a parking lot with a nice layer of ice, just find a parking lot with a hose somewhere nearby... :D

mikim
8 Dec 2003, 5:39am
Well, since I piled my BM into the side of a house, I no longer get to enjoy the delights of a rear weel drive car...
I have a front drive car now... no use for donut fun!!
Shame! :)

Geeky1
8 Dec 2003, 5:43am
Ah well... at least it was only a BMW and not a Mercedes... :D

mikim
8 Dec 2003, 5:49am
Thing is... only taxi drivers drive Merc's round here... BMW's are classed as a quality car:D

I like em both to be fair...

Looking for an M3 right now. Old shape,..... fast, handle well, and cheap too!:thumbup

Geeky1
8 Dec 2003, 5:51am
;D You realize that the reason the taxis are Mercedes is because the taxi drivers know what they're doing, right?

When you spend 8hrs/day in your car, you need something that's comfortable. And when you put the kind of miles on it that they do, you need something reliable. Comfortable and reliable? Look no further than a Mercedes diesel. :D

I like BMWs too tho, so...

Good point, well made.

True, they go on forever. German engineering's rock solid. I have a VW at the moment... it's done like 2 million miles already, still as good as new!!!

I may be living in Tampa by latter half of 2004. You might see a case of road rage on the news if I can't adapt to the large amount of older drivers. :eek2:

Does Florida or Tampa rather have a problem with potholes and crappy roads? My area is a boon for mechanics and tire dealers.

Ageek all those problems with citrus trees are for people who want to grow them which is around maybe 1% of the population. I hate florida cause of the old drivers who cant drive! other than that i love Fl

No pothole issues that I can think of. The older driver thing is a pain the ass. Around USF where I attend school, you have the older slow drivers and the maniac students. Haha... So, it's fun and exciting. Hah!

Straight_Man

Yeah, in my area about 2\3 of the folks have at least one citrus tree.

About same percentage overall grow apples.

But, It looks like I will be having major eye muscle surgery on my right eye after first of year to straighten right eye, which with new sharpness is giving me nice crossed vision such that ZERO driving is possible and working repairing computers is now difficult . So, not complaining, but wanted to illustrate overall that we all have to cope with different things-- and the coping might be odd appearing to others BUT what works, works. Many of us have situationally unique problems, most of them are not shared by a majority of others.
