Hi guys,
I recently bought a brand new Sony laptop with Vista installed BUT unlike the old laptop I had, it didnt come with the Vista discs at all. I have requested them from the vendor a number of times but as yet they are not forthcoming!!!
Now I have moved to different country and want to make a startup disc...can this be done without Vista originals as the vendor says? I dont really believe it, but I need something just in case something gets through the holes that are ever present in a new OS.
Any suggestions...apart from flying back and annoying the vendor in person again?
Regards
Nick

Most recent sony computers create their restore CDs (Startup discs as you call them) from inside Windows. I can no longer remember the specifics, but a quick call to Sony support should resolve it; have them walk you through it. You'll need 1-2 dual layer DVDs.

Thanks for that Thrax..I'll phone them and create one before I need it (hopefully)!!!

yeah there should be a recovery tool for creating startup disk... i did the same thing to my friends HP Laptop... i don't have Vista infront of me at the moment but its pretty simple really...

you have to create a recovery disk... should be under program files/sony/recovery or something similar

try looking through the Sony tools or admin tools or something
