anti-virus advice ???????

I still have norton ant-virus but I have not renewed live update and do not want to buy another anti-virus. Are there any free anti-virus applications that are just as good as Norton?

AVG Free (http://free.grisoft.com/) or Avast Home (http://www.avast.com/) are both better than Norton in all possible ways.
