works cannot open the mail merge list .....

Hi

I have problems with Microsoft Work-Word 2008, the error works cannot open the mail merge list you selected.

can you please suggested what to do, I renamed it based 8.3 name format it still come up .............. I search the support.microsoft.com find no-solution there! any help will be great appreciated

Is this a mail merge that you created, or one that someone else created? Also is this a Works word file, or an Office Word file, as they are different things.

i think the files were created with Microsoft Works 4.0, it working well before, and I found when I try to create mail merge list I found other extension as work excel etc within it, before I saw only wdb extension

I try to remove, re-install etc many times it still does not works

do you have any ideas

Do you have both the form letter and the data source you are trying to merge into it? That error message to me seems like you are missing the data structure. Which is a pretty common thing I see happen. People will often send one person the form part of the mail merge but not the database that it's looking for.
