I have a computer here with 2 hard drives, C and E. They were made the same via an old version of Norton Ghost. Both drives has Windows 2000 on them and Outlook, and either drive by itself could boot up the computer and open the emails. The emails are actually here on the drive, not on some Outlook server, apparently.

I had to reformat / reload C drive to Windows XP. Along with that, Outlook 2002 was installed.

Now how can I get the Outlook emails on the E drive to open in the C drive Outlook 2002? I tried downloading the 2000 sp3 update but it said the expected version of Outlook wasn't found. Yeah.

I don't like Outlook, I've always used Hotmail.

I found Outlook folders on the E drive, but could not find the actual emails themselves.

Emails that are saved on the computer itself.

After a few calls to verion fios tech support, I got the 2002 outlook email configured and working, and sent a couple emails to my own hotmail account just to make sure.

Only one issue now.

All the emails that are on the E drive in outlook 2000 --- how can I make them show in the inbox or whatever box of the outlook 2002?

if you have the outlook.pst file saved on your E: drive you can do an import to get them into outlook2002.

Okay, how exactly would I go about importing those old emails?

The new Outlook 2002 is now receiving new emails, a few came in this evening. But I need to get the old ones into it.

The womn who uses this computer is so die-hard set on using her old 3-1/2" floppy disk of Norton Ghost to back up her computer every time she uses it, that she doesn't even want to hear about anything else. It's a real headache for me.

If she's using Ghost each day to back up the hard drive, it's copying ALL the files on one drive to the other each time, right? If so, that's a lot of unneeded wear and tear on the drives. But she doesn't believe in the concept of Copy and Paste, like I do, which is simple and works great.

So if this is indeed a .pst file your working with this is how to import it.

In outlook go into files>Import and Export Wizard>Import from another program or file>Personal Folder (.pst). Browse to the old .pst file. Then import the things you want..

Got it fixed. Talked to a local computer repair place, enabled the computer to show hidden files, and then copied the outlook data folder into outlook 2002. Then it had all the old emails.

I hate Outlook.
