when restarting my Windows XP Home machine i get this error report

c:\windows\system32\config\system

i restarted with the Windows XP Installation CD and try to repair... i get blue screen of death, saying windows had to shut down due to error etc etc...

i restarted with the Windows XP Installation CD again, and try fresh reinstallation but end up with the same blue screen

what should i do next?

1GB RAM (512x2)
80GB (40+20+10+10)
Windows XP Home
