Graphic Design Software Suggestions????

I would like some easy and preferably free graphic design software that will enable me to make picture collages with words (that could be inserted into an .html page to make my ebay auctions look better).

there's also open source 'The Gimp', but paint.net would probably be the better solution for you.

Yeah, I was going to say GIMP. But you could easily go with something more simple.
