Vista update error 80246008

Hi guys,
Yet another little problem requires your expert help.
I am having no joy in receiveing/installing new windows updates this past month or so (since SP1, methinks).
I have researched this problem and have found various solutions incl updating in safe mode, trying to update without firewall and antivirus software, and changing the BITS too - all with no joy at all.
Wondered if any of your team knew of a solution to this problem.

No worries re above request-did a clean install in the end, as driving me mad. Problem solved.

Just in case anyone stumbles across this post - I had a similar issue with my Vista install and when I rang my ISP they gave me a primary DNS and secondary DNS number to enter in. Once I did this I was able to start getting updates.
