Well, it's still in the dusting off the new construction stage, but I feel like I can announce the launch of my own little pet project.

I'm starting a site dedicated to making the teachings of the buddha more accessible to the western mind. When I first started on my journey down this path, I was quite confused by the proliferation of information out there, and quite turned off by the lack of quality of a great deal of it. So, I'm going to do my part to try to make others' journey a bit easier.

The site is also going to serve as the "other" home of my local temple that I attend, the Midwest Buddhist Meditation Center, located in Warren, MI. It's not very big, but we're working on getting more American people attending. :)

Is shameless self-promotion one of the tenets of Buddhism?

Good luck with the site. I'm always interested in learning about other beliefs, so I'm definitely going to check it out.:thumbsup:

Looks pretty swish dude. It's good that you want to give something back, it looks like it will turn out to be a pretty informative site. Great job!

Looks pretty nice so far. Keep us posted as things progress.
I woud be interested in learning about Buddhism.

it looks a bit unfinished, the bottom just cuts off. just for some closure, please... something like this? Just to contain the eye within the window, the sharp cut off at the bottom border is distracting

Er..... I thought the midwest was Europe?....

Oh, and yeah, add something like fux said.... it just kinda looks like the page stops loading otherwise.....

Cool, I will stop in every now and again to learn more about Buddhism, never know what you might find interesting.

I agree, the front page looks like complete ass. I am going to be working on some content for the front page, but I need to get some of the pictures from the temple resized and all that.

I think you're off to a fine start, but still a ways away from having a polished and finished look.
