Harmonix, MTV Games, and Electronic Arts announced Rock Band 2 today. Set for release in September on the Xbox 360 with the PS3 version "to follow", one of the most exciting features appears to be full compatibility with all the content you downloaded for Rock Band 1. The press release also cites "improved guitar and drum peripherals" while maintaining backwards compatibility with the old instruments.

Rock Band is certainly a big hit at ICHQ and at Icrontic events. Rock Band 2 is sure to be in our future somewhere.

sounds good. guitar hero 4 is going to be good too i think, finally theyve implemented create your own songs.

I hope the drums are more like the ones that are in GH4. I plan on snatching this up in a second once it comes out in September.

The new guitar for RB2 looks friggin' great.

Sure sure, that's where one puts the set for the game you are playing, but where does one put one's two RockBand drumsets, while one plays GH?

You only need one drumset- I think that the instruments from the first one can be carried over to the second.

You're able to buy Games and Instruments seperately. You can upgrade to the new ones and flog the old ones if you want, but tbh I'd just use the old ones :tongue: (Where possible)

Sounds like they want you to just pick one game and forget about the other.
