IT's not Dremel brand.
I'm willing to bet it woud wear out in a week. The real deal has a lifetime parts replacment warranty.
yeah I know its not a dremel, I mean't to put the topic like this "Dremel" tool.
but it is cheap. I have a few lying around at my parents house, and they are all no name brands. They have lasted quite awhile (used on wood/metal/plastic all the time)
*shrug* just tryin to help for the holidays! bah humbug! :P

Wal-Mart has a rechargable dremel brand roto tool for 15 bucks for Christmas right now.
It's not a variable speed version but for someone wanting one for a backup or as a starting tool for modding small stuff I'd say that it would be hard to beat.

2. The Deal Depot and Trading Post is for computers, computer components, and computer-related items to include hardware and software. Video gaming hardware and software is also acceptable here.
Croc, I had to move your thread. Sorry if you missed rule number two. During a recent rules edit, I must have inadvertantly removed the "computer components, and computer-related..." clause.

i don't reccommend a dremel that is not variable speed for modding. most of the time the one speed they give you is way too fast for cutting with the wheels and you just keep breaking the damn wheels like that. I've broken only 1 wheel in my modding efforts and that is because the thing only spun at 1 speed, got my hands on a variable and never broke another.

Oddly enough I only run my variable at full when I cut...it seems like it gets too bogged at lower rpm's but I've only broken disks by knocking them up against things or having them grab upon breaking through a panel.
I'm thinking I might need to replace my brushes and try a bit of lower speed cutting. Good tip Xenogeared.

leo, i think he mentioned this because of the modding aspect, not the woodworking one.

Yeah, I agree with celcho, not trying to undermine your moderation, but seems to me it's very computer mod related...
