I saw this in my mommies group and thought I would pass it on. The idea is cool but I don't think I could tattoo Sam even if they were washable. Would any of you tattoo your kid with an emergency number.

I think they're a practical idea.

Lots of kids wander away from their parents in public spaces every year.

I lost my son at the zoo when he was 4. It was, hands down, the worst experience of my life. He just... got away. 7 years later, I still have nightmares about it. We got him back an hour later, they basically shut the zoo down and wouldn't let anyone leave until we were reunited.

I wish I had tattoos like that back then. I definitely would have gotten a temp tattoo for big outing days.

I like this idea better than those crazy chips they want to install in kids these days to keep track of them. This would have been helpful when I was a kid too- I never wandered away, but I would get distracted at museums and stuff because I wanted to read everything the little descriptive signs said, and my family would end up moving on and I wouldn't notice. I'm still pretty oblivious like that. ;)

Sam is only going on 2 and we have a child leash for her but I never thought about when she gets to big for that. I think I am going to have to get some of these for the days that we are at big events. I am glad I listed it here I would never have thought that when she gets bigger I could still lose her. I just thought she would listen better.

I remember when we went to the mall when I was like 4 I had one of those phone cord tethers velcroed to my wrist... apparently I would dart away at every opportunity :D

You know listening wasn't one of your strong points growing up :D

Why not just write it on with a marker? Seriously? Write it on the back of their hand "I'm lost please call ###" Done.

I could see where they could be useful. I'm sure it is not hard for a child to get lost in a big place like an amusement park or zoo.
