Howdy y'all!

donde esta me amigo es pase en mexicana de tripo con encillada.

Ok, I don't speak any Mexican what so ever, but we get by. My wife has had enough to order food and ask questions as such. Were still here in Mexico city but plan on leaving to another town. Mexico City is Detroit on crack. Very run down and polluted. No, the whole city isn't all like that. Where we are there is some cools stuff, and awesome ice cream. We don;t feel safe walking around at night, and getting around is very difficult. Although I have found a new found respect for what America has to offer, and a new found respect for foreigners. Being the outsider, it was nice to see so many people try to help us out. great people. And yes I did say we were Americans. I kidded around saying I was going to say I Canadian. Pictures to come soon

I think I speak a bit of Mexican but it may be rusty. Salute everyone with "orale buey", use lots of "chinga su madre" and occasionally call people "baboso" or babosa". You'll fit right in.

Instead of calling people "hombre" or "amigo," I prefer "chingado." It's a little less touristy.

A very helpful phrase in Mexico: If you are lost, just talk to any official-looking brown person and say "Viva la raza", triumphantly and with great enthusiasm. They'll become very helpful. A little bit of "Si se puede" may help more reticent folks.

They do speak Mexican. They do not speak Spanish. It's a myth.

They don't. They introduced a lisp to their version of the language after colonizing the Americas because of a king with a speech impediment.
