Im having trouble getting around the web. Some sites come up just fine but others seem to get "stuck" on pages, with the content not coming up but the window reads "done" at the lower left. Seems to happen more with sites I need a log on to get to, but not all of them.
Im running Vista on an ASUS laptop thru a wireless connection. The problem doesn't happen on the desktop.
Any ideas?

make sure that you have the latest version of flash installed. Also if you could tell us some sites that you are having problems with, that could help.

I'm trying to download the McAfee virus protection that I get free with my Comcast internet/cable subscription and it wont install (I cant even even get to the tech supprt page), I cant log in to my Army Knowlege Online account either. My wife has a profile too and said she was having trouble with some sites but I dont know what they are. Washington Post.com keeps telling me to sign in everytime I change pages even though I check the "remember me" box.
Would reinstalling IE help?

It might. But I would suggested removing all your offline content and clearing out your cache and cookies. A corrupt cookie or cached is usually the cause for that kind of problem.
Now the avg thing - personally I'd suggest on not using the mcaffee it's not the greatest. Instead I'd recommend using AVG Free edition from grisoft. It has anti-virus/spyware. You can download it here http://free.avg.com/ww.download-avg-anti-virus-free-edition

I'm going to step up on my soap and direct you to http://getfirefox.com so you can replace IE with a better browser ;)

If what kryyst suggested doesn't work, you can reset IE. It clears your cache, history, etc, plus disables all 3rd party add-ons (one could be causing the problem), and does a few other things.
Tools > Internet Options.
Advanced Tab.
Click the "Reset..." button.
I've reset IE many times on various computers here at work, and it has cleared up the majority of problems.

Sounds like you do have a virus to me. It's very common for viruses to prevent you from downloading anti-virus software and other browsers to try and get around them.

Here is a HiJack log. We may need to move the thread to the Virus section.

Do you have a HOSTS file installed, perhaps something like the MVPS file that's advertised here sometimes? I've seen delays in page rendering, especially if the page has a lot of third party links.

No, there's nothing like that on the computer.
Nothing showing up as wrong in your HJT log, though your version is out of date.
Did you try installing firefox yet?

I did and I was getting the same trouble. I ran Adaware in safe mode but am away from a wireless connection so we'll see what happens when I log on again.
I think it's just Vista being Vista. :)
