A recent study conducted by Harvard University found that the
average American walks about 900 miles a year.
Another study by the American Medical Association found that
Americans drink, on average, 22 gallons of alcohol a year.
This means, on average, Americans get about 41 miles to the gallon.
Kind of makes one proud, doesn't it? :D

nice :D
22 gallons seems a little high. I think all those drunkards are driving it up or else the beer drinkers are counted.

I'd say the college students are definitely helping keep it up at 22 gallons on average. I know I'm doing my share ;)

i walk 4 miles 6 days/week, 1248miles. 56 mpg ;)
Just to give you a perspective on how far that is. Its from my house to prime's house AND back.
I'll wager I beat that 22 gallon mark last month, and if I weren't having to save more money because of last month I'd do it again.
