Seeing that AMDMB Frog got me to thinking, and well, it's a slow day...anyways, this would be a sort of branding exercise. What if we had a contest to develop a mascot for ShortMedia?! My first inclination is to make a caricature of shorty and developing it further. Maybe a gecko, penguin or hobbit.. I'm just free associating right now but back to my original idea. We could sell hats and Ts emblazoned with this new logo and the proceeds could conceivably go toward new SMx machines or to cover hosting fees. maybe it's just me, but i'd buy a Short-Media T-shirt in a heartbeat.
No, I haven't been drinking. (At least... not yet..)

As cell shading is all the fashion.. I did a cell shaded version of a potential mascot.
Just dont think the rest of them will go with it ;)

I'm with geeky, teh shar-pei with a few granules of kitty litter on his nose and a nice nugget clenched between floppy lips (hey, we could pass it off as a cigar to those who might be offended. Wait, tobacco is offensive too =P ) would pwn
teh mascot gonna need a slogan or saying or quote too, don't forget that
Other idea: something to do with the l33t processor as our mascot, it's already been given mythical properties, just expand on (or contract, for the purposes of a slogan) that idea

I like the idea of putting a mascot on a t-shirt or something, I mean I would love to wear one, but I don't know what kind of looks I would get if Shorty's face was on it, hehe

I've been thinking of slogans:
"Keep it simple. Keep it tech. Keep it Short-Media." (Something exactly like our current if I remembered it right.)

Well, the original idea was for a mascot contest.. which doesn't make any sense..... Like I said, it was a slow day. Anyways, If all SM members could vote on the submissions, that would be very democratic. Me, I'm going with Prime's puppy and Shortys mug. With the winning mascot, I think the slogans will come naturally.
