om nom nom nom. actually, it's a solid meh.
I think the harvest moon is pretty gross. Very bitter.
I had Kuhnhenn's Classic American, Pilsner and Draak this evening. Draak got worse as the night went along; pretty hoppy and not my style. The rest was top-notch.

Tonight I had a Columbus Brewing Company Apricot Ale (delicious), a home brew a friend of mine made (tasty but with an enormous head), a Boulevard Wheat (usually yummy but this bottle tasted like watery mead?!), and a Yuengling (dependable).

My last enjoyable beer was Sam Adams' Summer Ale, on tap at the restaurant to which my girlfriend and I took my sister and brother-in-law out to dinner on Saturday.

If you had any of the rum at the LAN that I brought, then that was Sailor Jerry, or if you did one of the Retarded Tigers (High Life (8oz)+ sour + shot of Sailor dropped in).
All I remember are people having it at the LAN and getting HAMMERED because of that lovely 92 proof goodness.

Oh, classy move Eggroll! Ryder hooked me up with a glass, so I assumed it was his.
Tonight I did well for myself. Kingpin picked up some Bell's Oberon. First Oberon I've had since I visited ICHQ after the Dream Theater concert. It was excellent.
Cherplunka, I know you're not big on beer, but if you ever cross paths with a bottle of Oberon, do give it a try. I think you'd like it. I hated beer until I drank Oberon. But it's brewed in Michigan, so you'd be hard pressed to find it on the west coast.
After that I tried a Stella Artois Belgian lager.. Very impressed, I liked it a lot.

Remember the "Retarded Tiger" from the LAN? Yeah, well I did seven (7_) of those tongiht. Woah. I highly recommend thse to anybody who likes saoilr jerry and/pr beer.
The Retarded Tiger
Description:
8oz Miller High Life (substitute light beer of choice if you wish)
1 (one) strong squeeze of lime juice (or 2/3 shot of sour mix)
1 shot of Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum 92 proof (or captain/admiral nelson if you are going the "light" route)
take 8oz of High Life, pour in glass. Dump in the Lime Juice/Sour Mix. Toast. Drop in shot of spiced rum. Chug. Do the Retarded Tiger (make weird retarded sounding tiger noise while making tiger claw with drinking hand)
I know this sounds disgusting, but if you play with the mixture just right, it should taste like a REAL Key Lime Pie when drinking aka pleasently sour with a very hint of sweet.
Enjoy this Tallahassee (birth place of Icrontic) original.

Seems like there's a trend for big breweries to make "microbrewed-style" beers now. I've seen Budweiser do it, Michelob has their six craft brews, etc. Last night I tried the Labatt's attempt. I had Labatt's Honey Lager and Labatt's Signature Ale.
The signature ale was meh. The honey was good enough that I had a second bottle.
Yeah, the Honey Lager isn't bad, though Michelob's is much better. It's not great, but it's worth drinking once or twice.

This. gin. rocks.
Imported from France, it's flavor is just... 'full'. The 19 botanicals really spice up the flavor. Best gin I've ever had (though I've really only had 3 different Gins)

Last night I had a Long Strange Tripe from the Boulevard Brewing Company. I tried it originally at a beer tasting, and I feel like I liked it better at that tasting than last night. It was hoppier than I remembered from the tasting. I think I prefer Boulevard Wheat. Also....Long Strange Tripe has triple the amount of alcohol in a normal beer. That might explain a few things from last night too..... :D

Fuller's ESB
Fuller's London Porter
Rogue Brutal Bitter
Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout
Samuel Smith's Taddy Porter
Bell's Christmas Ale
And, of course, good ole Guinness if nothing else is available
Harder Stuff:

Johnny Walker Black

Damn, I just picked up and opened a bottle of Bushmills Black Bush and it's completely blown me away. I don't typically have the opportunity to try $50-100+ whiskeys so take this with a grain of salt but this whiskey is hands down the best I've ever had. It's incredible smooth at it's start but it picks up some pepper as you go despite finishing remarkably clean. The color is an unusually dark beutiful amber that I assume comes from they sherry cask aging and provides a touch of sweetness with layers of complexity to keep you tasting.
I'll definitly be enjoying this bottle and it's at a price that I might put a few bottles away to continue aging, either way at under $35 this is an incredible deal.
